What is your Home Care Aide Program?It is a one-day course where we train you to become a Home Care Aide. After passing the course, we submit the necessary paperwork to the state to apply for approval to work as a home care aide. Before registration approval, you must be 18 years of age or older and complete a criminal background check administered by the California Department of Social Services. We will help with this registration process and subsequent job placement.

What is your CNA to LVN Program?If you have a minimum of 51 months of paid general duty in-patient nursing experience in a clinical facility, then we can help you qualify for the LVN exam (NCLEX-PN) in California. We will give you the necessary course instruction (54-theory-hour pharmacology course) and tutoring to equip you and help you pass the licensure examination.

What prior experience will qualify for the CNA to LVN Program?Pursuant to the California Code of Regulations section 2516(b), the 51 months of paid general duty inpatient bedside nursing experience must include a minimum of each of the following: 48 months medical/surgical nursing; 1.5 months (6 weeks minimum) maternity or genitourinary nursing; 1.5 months (6 weeks minimum) pediatric nursing. The 51 months must have occurred within the past 10 years, with half (25.5 months) occurring in the past 5 years. A maximum of 8 months of experience in outpatient (e.g., clinic) may be applied towards the 51 months. Please note that work experience in home health aide, in-home care provider, in-home hospice provider, residential care provider, transport aide, phlebotomist, or field paramedic will not be accepted. The verification of experience will be through a form your employer(s) fill(s) out indicating specific dates of employment and the number of hours worked in each area. Your director or supervisor (must be a registered nurse) will also certify in the form that you satisfactorily demonstrated the knowledge and skills in Basic Bedside Nursing and Infection control procedures (may be demonstrated in classroom, lab, and/or patient care settings).
